Collectibles, Website Development, & More

First week recap post! To start off, I’d like to share some new collectibles/figures that I’ve added to my collection recently. A good friend of mine introduced me to an amazing website where I can buy merchandise and collectibles directly from Japan, and I’ve definitely spent way too much time browsing their discount section for hidden gems… But I’ve limited myself to a few things for my first purchase so that I don’t go too overboard before payday 🙂

The four possible mini figures you can get from the gachapon series.

As a fan of Hatsune Miku, I’ve been closely following merch releases from the Gundam x Hatsune Miku 45th Anniversary project, and one of the items I really wanted were the Miku Zaku gacha capsule figures. As per the name, they’re randomized mini figures that come in gacha capsules, so the type of figure I got upon purchase wasn’t guaranteed. I didn’t mind which ones I got though (I bought 2) as long as I didn’t get duplicates. Though, I was hoping to get one of the figures that had her holding a leek. But I’m satisfied either way!

Two other collectibles I got were from the Sumikkogurashi plush line, where I bought a Mochi plush and a tiny ebi plush too. The Mochi one is really soft! This brand is honestly one of my favorites in terms of collectibles and plushies, as they have many knick knacks to decorate my desk with. The plushies are of course great as well, though I’m not sure how much more room I can dedicate on my bed to just my plushies…

And of course, with website development still ongoing, I’m hoping to add some more sidebar components and main pages to visit. Initially, I wanted to have a page dedicated to just diary posts, but I have yet to decide if I want to separate them from all other categories. I could potentially scrap the idea entirely too, as I’d like for the diary entries to be short and sweet—more so for mundane things I come across, or small events happening that can’t exactly warrant an entire blog post. Though, I’m hoping that overtime, I’ll be able to have posts/pages dedicated to my hobbies more rather than “irl” events happening in my personal life.

A major highlight of my week was visiting my town’s one-and-only cat cafe! A place focused more on temporarily homing adoptable cats rather than a space for warm tea and drinks, my friend and I were able to spent about an hour hanging out with various cats and kittens. Our favorite was definitely this small, black kitten names Indie, who absolutely did not know the concept of personal space! The little guy kept climbing all around us and was extremely curious too. If I had the means to adopt him, I definitely would have 🙁 But, as with all the other cats in the cafe, I’m hoping that whichever home he goes to, they’ll take great care of him.

And lastly, to end the week, a major event in PokemonGO took place from Saturday through Sunday: the release of Eternatus! I’ve been inactive on PoGO for most of this year—only coming out of retirement for big events now—so I joined my friends on Sunday to take on Eternamax Eternatus and Gigantamax Pokemon. The turn out was… not that great, to be honest, which is kind of on-par with regular Gigantamax events than happen where I live. But one of my friends did the labor to set up lobbies on a raid website for people all over the world to remote raid with us, and it definitely filled in the gaps that our small group of PoGO players couldn’t fill. I didn’t get much of a great “haul” from the event, but I did get an Eternatus with good stats and a shiny Charmander!

I’m quite glad that the new company have made the game a little more accessible for players around the world, albeit at a price of course. But it definitely helps for those who live in rural areas or areas that don’t have a sizeable PoGO community/presence. More than once have my friends and I come across straggling players that want to take on high difficulty raids, but because of how small some raid turnouts can be, we sometimes can’t hard carry them. But, for the day that I played on, my friend was generous enough to set up the raid lobbies online so that we could take on the Gigantamax battles. Otherwise, we definitely wouldn’t have been able to fight anything throughout the event.

That’s all the notable things that happened this past week! To be honest, it started out very rough, but I’m glad to have spent some days throughout the week with friends to cheer me up. I’m hoping that these upcoming days will be a little better 🙂
